Seattle Maritime Building

NBBJ, Seattle, Washington

The Seattle Maritime Building is a large scale commercial renovation project on the Seattle Waterfront. The project restores a centuries old, historically landmarked port building, adding a modern intervention that expands the occupiable square footage and ties together the old with the new, at the scale of the building and the city. The physical model was critical to the approval of the project with the city of Seattle, as wells as in helping to finalize the design direction with the client. It was one of several exercises that I collaborated on, which helped to finalize the massing and façade direction for the project.
